Congee, or Juk in Cantonese, is a humble rice porridge dish that many Chinese people eat growing up. At this pop-up, we will be offering 2 kinds of congee. One will be a chicken and ginger congee with slightly bolder flavor, and the other will be a more delicate white-fish and ginger congee. Included topping are scallions, cilantro, chili oil, crispy shallots. Add-on topping are Pork Floss / Century Egg or Chinese Donut Stick.
Jason is a second generation Chinese-Vietnamese immigrant that grew up in and out of restaurants his whole life, and eventually worked as a cook in various DMV restaurants. He still enjoys sharing his cooking with others. His new brand Hou Mei, pronounced [hoh-may] in Cantonese, translates to "tastes good".
