ABOUT ABOUT

Join us on a flavorful journey into the vibrant world of Korean cuisine with our immersive class focused on Banchan and Bibimbap!
Banchan (반찬) is the word for the colorful side dishes that accompany a Korean meal. There are endless varieties depending on season and region but we will highlight the ones that is traditionally found in Bibimbap (비빔밥), which translates to "mixed rice.” This dish holds a special place in Korean cuisine and is celebrated both domestically and internationally for its delicious flavors, nutritional value, and aesthetic appeal. Whether enjoyed as a comforting home-cooked meal or savored at a fine dining restaurant, bibimbap remains a beloved symbol of Korean gastronomy. You will learn the history and art of preparing a variety of Banchan that goes into the Bibimbap, specifically the seasoned fresh vegetables and marinated meat.
Led by Sak Pollert, owner of Rice Market and Ellen Lee, a Michelin-trained chef and founder of AJM KIMCHI, you’ll get to experience a unique hands-on class, full-service lunch, and dynamic conversation in a beautifully designed kitchen. Afterwards, you can take home two different sauces to recreate your own banchan and bibimbap.

This class is perfect for anyone passionate about Korean cuisine, whether you're a beginner eager to learn the basics or a seasoned cook looking to expand your culinary repertoire. No prior experience is required – just come with an appetite for learning and a love for delicious food!
